Norwegian-American Historical Association

The Norwegian-American Historical Association (NAHA) is a national center for the collection and preservation of historical material relating to Norwegian-American life. The archives, housed in the Rølvaag Memorial Library at St. Olaf College, is home to one of North America’s oldest and largest ethnic manuscript collections. Materials include letters, diaries, journals and ledgers, newspaper clippings, obituaries, congregational records, photographs, and other resources related to Norwegians in America. Founded in 1925, NAHA also maintains a robust publishing program that brings into focus the Norwegian-American experience and its relationship to other ethnic groups in the United States. At the heart of our publishing program is our scholarly journal, Norwegian-American Studies, published annually in cooperation with University of Minnesota Press.
