The Nathan and Theresa Berman Upper Midwest Jewish Archives contain important collections chronicling Jewish history, communities, religion, and culture in the Upper Midwest region. The archives, housed in the Elmer L. Andersen Library at the University of Minnesota, are a result of a donation of the materials from the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest. The collections feature organizational records for Jewish community groups; synagogue records; family and personal papers collected by individuals about early Jewish settlement in Minnesota as well as North and South Dakota; photographs and scrapbooks; and books and publications, all valuable resources for anyone interested in understanding the American Jewish experience from a Midwestern perspective. Jewish shops, businesspeople, camps, social organizations, religious holiday celebrations, Hebrew schools, synagogue buildings, neighborhood locations and sports teams are a few of the areas featured in Minnesota Reflections.
