The history of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul Province, reflects the historical development of St. Paul and Minneapolis and the state of Minnesota. The sisters arrived in St. Paul in 1851, before Minnesota became a state, and opened schools, hospitals and social service agencies for the people of the area. The mission of the Archives of the Sisters of St. Joseph is to preserve and share the history, spirit, and memory of the St. Paul Province.
