The Rushford Area Historical Society focuses on preserving and sharing our local history. Formed in 1984, RAHS’ mission is to discover, collect, promote, and disseminate knowledge of the Rushford area as well as to preserve structures and artifacts that pertain to or are of interest to the historical legacy of the Rushford area. RAHS maintains the Southern Minnesota/Milwaukee Road Depot built in 1867, the 1878 Grinde one-room schoolhouse, part of the original 1867 Rushford Emanual Episcopal Church, a 1913 limestone jail, and a 1914 two-story log cabin. The RAHS's contribution to the Minnesota Digital Library includes oral histories recorded in 2024 to get first-hand experiences of Rushford residents. Personal recollections of 31 people were captured. Most were in their 80s and 90s, although several were much younger.
