The Rochester Public Library (RPL) was founded in 1865, with a mission of “welcoming all to connect and learn.” It primarily serves the residents of Rochester and Olmsted County, Minnesota. The RPL contribution to the Minnesota Digital Library includes materials submitted via a partnership with the Rochester Fire Department (RFD). Serving the City of Rochester since 1866, the Fire Department mission is to compassionately solve problems that threaten life, health and property. Additional photos and documents that tell the stories of people and organizations in our community are on Rochester Digital History (Rescarta).
