North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting

The North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting is a 30-year-old institution, founded by Boy Scout adult volunteers in the 1970s. Their goal was to collect the material remains of their Scouting experiences. Since then, the collection has grown to represent Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting in the five-state upper Midwest region, and includes some 150,000 artifacts: uniforms, patches, accoutrements, films, video, audiotape and photographs. It opened in its own building in April 2006 in North St. Paul, Minnesota. The Museum collects, preserves, displays, and shares the history of Boy Scouting, Girl Scouting, and Girl Guiding.
