Founded in 1866, the Minnesota State Horticultural Society (MSHS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to serve Northern gardeners through education, encouragement, and community. In 1873 MSHS began publishing the minutes of its annual meetings, which later evolved into a magazine called the Minnesota Horticulturist, later renamed Northern Gardener. MSHS's publication is the oldest continually published magazine in Minnesota, and the collection represents every volume through 2014.
