Gustavus Adolphus College is home to the collections of The College Archives and The Lutheran Church Archives. Gustavus Adolphus College archives contributed documents and images illustrating the growth of this educational institution from a parochial school for immigrant Swedish children in Red Wing, to St. Ansgar's Academy in Carver County, to a liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minnesota. The Lutheran Church Archives contributed images from the Lutheran Minnesota Conference (1858-1962), the Red River Valley Conference (1912-1962) of the Augustana Lutheran Church, the Minnesota and Red River synods of the Lutheran Church in America (1963-1987) and the English Evangelical Lutheran Synod of the Northwest (1891-1962), showing scenes of Swedish immigrant activities across Minnesota.
